When you are installing a solar power generator, you need to take the right steps to ensure your own safety and that it functions properly. First, you need to prepare the area where you are going to install it. If you are installing it on your roof, make sure that the roof can bear the weight of the solar panels. If it can’t, you will need to reinforce it. You will also need to clean it of debris.

 

Now it’s time to put in the solar panel mounting brackets. Whether it’s a ground or roof mounted system, it’s important to secure the brackets tightly to the roof or ground to help withstand the force of the wind and other weather. Post-Installation Maintenance and Monitoring

 

 

After setting up your solar power generator, daily maintenance alongside monitoring will ensure its sustainability. Use a soft brush and clean water to eliminate the dirt—steer clear of cleaning panels with harsh chemicals. They perform a chemical cleaning of the panels. Routinely check the panels for any cracks or damage, especially after storms.  

 

 

For a pack of batteries, you will mainly monitor if a pack is charged or not. Most modern systems even have monitoring capabilities (some even with WiFi) so you can check a pack status through your phone or computer, making it even quicker. Over-discharging a battery can shorten its life, avoid letting it get fully discharged often. Also, a battery should remain in a cool dry place. A battery’s performance will decrease significantly if heat is too high.  

 

 

An inverter performs maintenance just as the other components of your solar power generator. Unusual sounds like buzzing or clicking can mean and issue. Cross check the inverter display. It should remain in the normal ranges and you should act to solve any issue in the inverter as fast as possible. Problem avoidance will even escalate the inverter problems to the whole solar power generator.
